It is gratifying that my book "Legal Language" published in 1999 was well received and appreciated all over. Whenever I went to different universities and colleges to participate in seminars and extension lectures, first year students came to greet me as author of their first year legal language text book. I thank all those teachers and students who studied, followed and gave me suggestions to add and improve. After several reprints, the book is now thoroughly revised. I have added almost all significant new developments of law including the Constitution (91st Amendment) Act (Anti-Defection Law) and The Constitution (92nd Amendment) Act, 2004 (Including Bodo and other languages in the Eighth Schedule) to the Constitution of India in January 2004. Some significant expressions from Constitution and Indian Penal Code which a fresh student will come across in the beginning, were chosen and explained.
